Next possible princess?

The saying goes “no news is good news.”  I sure hope this is case concerning the possible next royal engagement.  Although neither party has adddressed the media on the issue, I’m sure if the two were to get engaged then they will handle it th best way possible.  Do royals even know how to do do bad PR?  Certainly not with a royal engagement.

I was so excited when my copy came in the mail 🙂

Their wedding will be fabulous

PR Documentary

Just watched this “documentary” on PR.  I liked it because to showed the entertainment sife of PR.  This is not an area of I would want to work in but I still find it fascinating.  This is executive produced by Kim Kardashian, which drama is sure to be a part of it.

Enjoy!

ATL-2nd Most Wired City

http://www.ajc.com/business/atlanta-is-no-2-345145.html

This is huge!  The people of Atlanta and its suburbs are extremely connected.  Social Media and PR can have a huge influence on the people of Atlanta.  It’s just a matter of getting connected and STAYING that way.

Roethlisberger isn’t in the clear yet

The Steelers Will Bring the Hammer Down

Although the DA the in our lovely state announced last Monday that they will not be pressing charges against the Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, the Steeler’s owner said Thursday that there will be some consequences.  This is a great PR move for the organization.  It shows the Steeler’s community and fans that this behavior is unacceptable no matter who you are;  one is still accountable for his/her actions.  Also, the NFL commissioner has also yet to annoucement Roethlisberger’s punishment.  The announcement is likely to come after the draft this weekend.

Good Move NFL!! I commend you on not allowing Ben’s actions to go unpunished.

Tiger’s press conference

Continuing with the golf theme . . .

Part 2 Part 3 Part 4

On the Monday before the Masters, Tiger Woods held a press conference and this time the media could actually participate.

I only caught the last 20 minutes live, but went back and watched the beginning later.  For starters, I thought this was way better than his robotic, emotionless statement back in February.  Humility will get you very far with me so two thumbs up in that category.  I wonder though, did he complete all the necessary steps of a rehab and he is truly ready to be back playing.  My favorite part was the moment where he talked about his lack of passion for the game and the excitement he has for playing now.  You need passion and excitement in everything you do in order to be great.  Even though I still think his wife should have hit him a lot harder with that drive,  I wish him luck in his golf comeback.

Phil Says Thanks in His Own Way

Phil in the Zone

Well Played Phil!

This story showed up on the news feed for my email at att.net and it touched my heart so much, I book marked it because I loved it so and now weeks later I have realized I can use it for my blog.

The weekend before the Masters (yes there are other golf tournament besides the Masters people) Phil Mickelson pulled what a I would consider a stellar PR move and  heart-warming act of kindness.  He let his wife and mother’s oncologist caddy a few holes for him during the Shell Houston Open.  For those who don’t know, both his wife and mother are battling cancer and are receiving treatment in Houston.  This gesture was very sweet and looked great from a PR perspective too.  It continues to show Phil as a loving, family man, who is is merely saying thanks to the man is trying to save the lives of these two women.

The last line of the article truly makes me smile.

“Nice move from Mickelson. If the Gods of Augusta respect karma, Lefty’s going in with a little extra bump.”

I’d say he had a huge bump 🙂

People’s Revolution Takes Reality TV

On February 1st,  the Bravo network aired the first episode of Kell on Earth.  The show follows fashion PR company People’s Revolution.  The show centers around the company founder, Kelly Cutrone, and her coworkers.  They deal with Fashion Week all over the world and world-famous designers and the media that goes along with it all.

Those watching may recognize the name People’s Revolution and Kelly if they have watched the MTV shows The Hills or The City when both Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port worked for the company.

Watch Kell on Earth episodes online or on the Bravo Network on Mondays at 10pm.

Tim Tebow SuperBowl Ad

Today’s the SuperBowl and much controversy has surrounded Tim and Pam Tebow’s  two anti-abortion commercials.  One is a pre-game commercial while the other is set to run during the game.  Tim and his mother Pam have teamed up with Focus on the Family to make the commercial.

People are shocked and outraged.  Some think Tim Tebow should stick to playing football.  I, for one, am not surprised by this.  Tebow has never hidden his faith from anyone.  He references it or God in almost every interview.  it was just a matter of time until he took it a step further and expressed it on a larger scale, like this commercial.  Whether I agree with his beliefs or not, it does not change the fact that he is an outstanding football player and a giving human being.  Plenty of other celebrities use their popularity to bring to light certain things they believe in or stand for.  How is this situation any different.  Whenever someone takes a stance on a particular topic, especially one of such strong opinion, there is going to be backlash and a difference of opinion.

Will this commercial affect his spot in the draft and which team might want to pick him up? No.  Tim Tebow’s beliefs and ideal were known before this commercial appeared.
